Pasting Text from Microsoft Word

If you would like to post a long section of text on your web page, it may be easier for you to create it in Microsoft Word.  The CMS has a built in function to convert the Microsoft Word formatting in your document into web page formatting.

  1. Write your document in Word.  Format it however you would like it to look.
  2. Save your document.  Leave it open.
  3. Go the page where you'd like to add your document. If this page does not have an HTML module, add one now.
  4. Copy the text from Word (Highlight the text, then select Edit > Copy from the menu, or press Ctrl-C)
  5. Click the "Paste from Word" icon (it's the clipboard with a blue "W" on it).
  6. Make sure there is a blinking cursor (vertical bar) inside the window that pops up.
  7. Press Ctrl-V to paste your text.
  8. Press "OK".
  9. The system will transfer your formatting from Word formatting to Web formatting.
  10. Press the "Update" button at the bottom of the text editor to save your page.
