Map Settings

Event Calendar Pro can automatically include a Google map to the location of your event.

To show a map with your event:

  1. Create a new event, or edit an existing event by clicking the pencil icon next to the event name
  2. In the "Location" textbox, type the street address (including city and state) where your event will take place
  3. Check the box labeled "Show Map"
  4. Type in the name of your location in the "Location Alias" textbox
  5. Press "Save" to save your changes

The map will be displayed when you click on the name of your event.

To change the appearance of the map:

  1. Create a new event, or edit an existing event by clicking the pencil icon next to the event name
  2. Click on the "Map Settings" tab
  3. To change the type of map displayed, change the "Initial Map Type" drop down box.  Map types include
    • Normal - a street map
    • Satellite - a satellite view
    • Hybrid - a street map on top of the satellite view
    • Terrain - a topographical map (hills and valleys) with streets marked
  4. To change how much geographical area is displayed on the map, change the "Map Zoom Level" drop down box.  The minimum, normal, and maximum zooms are marked in your list of choices.
  5. To change how much space the map takes up on your page, change the values in the "Map Height" and "Map Width" textboxes.
  6. You can also control which other map features are displayed:
    • Show Satellite and Hybrid Map Options - if checked, allows the user to switch between normal, satellite, and hybrid views
    • Show Zoom Tool - if checked, allows the user to zoom in and out on the map
    • Show Location Info Balloon - if checked, shows a balloon with the address and other information about your location
    • Show Local Search - if checked, adds a search box to the map to allow users to search for nearby businesses on the map
    • Enable Driving Directions - if checked, allows users to enter a starting address to generate driving directions to your event.
  7. Press the "Save" button to save your changes
