Most of the time, you want to avoid changing the name of an existing page. But sometimes, you have to change the name of an existing page.
When you have to change the name of a page, try to pick a new page name that you won't need to change in the future. For example, "2008 Letter from the President" should become "Letter from the President" or "Annual Letter" instead of "2009 Letter from the President".
Remember, you can always edit the homepage to let people know you have put up a new letter!
- Log into the site as the administrator.
- Browse to the page whose name you would like to change
- Click on the gear icon
at the top of the page (this will be in a group of 4 icons in the blue bar at the top of the page).
- Change the name of the page in the "Page Name" textbox.
- Click in the URL text box. Make sure the new text matches the new page name.
- Click the save button.
- The CMS will automatically update any links to this page so they display the new page name
